1926

establishment of the metalworking and wrought iron blacksmith shop on Lehderstrasse in Berlin-Weissensee. We were at this location until 1998.

1945

Pause in production for about two weeks in May 1945 while facility is used as a horse stable.

1972

Mandatory conversion to a state-owned enterprise (VEB) for wrought iron.

1990

Re-conversion to a privately owned company.

1997

Stefan Fittkau becomes director of the company.

2002

The company is reorganized under the name of stefan fittkau metallbau + kunstschmiede gmbh

Our vision for the near future

We plan to continue further along our adopted course. This means that we pursue our successful work in traditional and contemporary architectural metalworking even more intensively and extensively.

This especially includes our work in architectural bronze construction as well as our present special work in the areas of lighting features, balustrades, and staircase systems.

As previously, we will work internationally, with a clear focus on western Europe and North America, as well as Russia and other parts of Asia. A new expansion of energies is going into our Africa Project – the production, delivery, and set-up of Solar Kiosks, now in initial prototypes in Ethiopia and also late 2012 in Kenya.
